West of England Fourth Section Champions 2012
The Midsomer Norton and Radstock Silver Band is a friendly brass band located in Radstock, about twenty minutes South-West of Bath. The band rehearses in the Radstock Methodist Church, every Tuesday and Friday from 7:30 to 9:30 pm.
The Band are really pleased to announce that from Tuesday 24th April we will be running a Training Band, which is open to all and instruments are available to hire if required. The Training Band will be held every Tuesday evening at the Radstock Methodist Church from 6.15 pm - 7.15 pm. If anyone is interested you are welcome to come along or contact the Band Secretary for more information.
On 10th March the band won the Fourth Section at the West of England Regionals and will now compete in the National Finals in Cheltenham on 22nd September
This winning performance of the band playing English Folk Song Suite by Ralph Vaughan Williams was broadcast on Sounds of Brass on BBC Radio Bristol, Cornwall, Devon, Gloucestershire, Guernsey, Jersey, Somerset Sound, Swindon & Wiltshire on Sunday 25th March
The band are also current holders of the Newcome Cup won at the 65th Annual South West Brass Band Association Championships held in Torquay on the 5th November 2011.
